Mirror Bay Detailing

Washing a coated car without undoing the work

Rinse first, two buckets, a pH-neutral shampoo and a soft towel. Skip the brush wash.

Start with a thorough rinse to take off loose grit. Use two buckets — one with shampoo, one with clean water to rinse the mitt — so dirt never goes back onto the paint. A pH-neutral shampoo will not strip the coating.

Wash from the roof down, leave the lower panels for last, and dry with a soft microfibre towel or a blower. Avoid automatic washes with brushes; they are the fastest way to put swirls back in.
